C H A L U P A S . 0 4 is an audiovisual performance that reinterprets the presence of the absent body. The traces of movement and rhythm from Andean dance are transduced into pure digital signals, where the human gesture persists as an algorithm.
The system translates the body’s kinetic memory into generative patterns: footsteps turned into rhythmic pulses, bodily trajectories transformed into dynamic geometries. Choreography exists here as latent data, manifesting through the reactive relationship between synthesized sound and abstract visualization. The body, though invisible, remains as an underlying structure: its potential movements encoded in the system’s behavior, its energy transferred to the machine.
The piece explores this paradox: a bodily performance without a physical body, where dance persists as an imprint in the code and the ancestral manifests not through representation, but as operational logic within an autonomous digital environment.
A/V performance, world premiere at FIVER Festival - Centro Danza Matadero, Madrid, Spain (September 2025).
